Our History
In March of 2008, three Grand Masters from the state of New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Arkansas met in Little Rock, Arkansas for the purpose of discussing a possible affiliation of states for the purpose of working on a Masonic Congress level.
The second meeting in March of 2008 the Grand Masters from the states of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Arkansas and Texas met in Little Rock, Arkansas for the purpose of the continued discussion pertaining to the establishment of an affiliation which would allow the different states to come together at a set time for the purpose of continuing the various and higher levels of Masonic work. This work will include but not be limited to the establishment of a Masonic Congress and Supreme Council. Further purpose shall include an invitation to other Independent Grand Lodges to join this affiliation to be established.
In July 2009, the Grand Masters of the four states met in Houston, Texas, for the purpose of final discussion that the name Honorable John G. Jones would be used at the Grand Masonic Congress level.
The Original John G. Jones General Grand Masonic Congress of Grand Masters, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of the United States of America and Canada was organized on August 2, 2009.
The Original John G. Jones General Grand Masonic Congress of Grand Masters incorporated August 14, 2009, in the city of Little Rock, State of Arkansas.
The Original John G. Jones General Grand Masonic Congress of Grand Masters, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of the United States of America and Canada, Incorporate Inauguration and Installation Ceremonies was Friday, June 25, 2010, at the Sheraton Newark Hotel, Newark, New Jersey.
In July of 2016 in Little Rock, Arkansas, The Most Worshipful King Solomon Grand Lodge A. F. & A. M. of the State of Tennessee joined The Original John G. Jones General Grand Masonic Congress of Grand Masters.
On July 28, 2018 Hon. Ralph Calhoun from the State of Tennessee was elected as President General.
